Product & How It Works

What is ChargeGuard and who is it for?

ChargeGuard is an automated Detention & Accessorial Charge Recovery Platform designed for small-to-midsize US trucking carriers, including owner-operators and small fleets with 1-200 trucks. It helps carriers capture and document detention and accessorial charges that they are often owed but rarely collect due to manual paperwork burdens.

How does ChargeGuard capture detention and accessorial time?

ChargeGuard captures arrival and departure timestamps through driver/dispatcher-submitted documentation -- your driver taps Start and Stop from the ChargeGuard app at each stop, or a dispatcher enters times by hand. These timestamps are used to automatically calculate detention and accessorial charges based on the specific terms of each load, broker, or shipper.

What types of charges can ChargeGuard recover?

ChargeGuard can recover detention time and various accessorial charges, such as arrival/departure at shipper or receiver facilities, layover, TONU (Truck Ordered Not Used), and lumper fees. These charges are documented and turned into submission-ready claims or invoices.

Do I need any special hardware or software to use ChargeGuard?

No. The platform works from your driver's app taps, carrier-uploaded documentation and photos, or manual entry -- nothing else to install or connect.

How does ChargeGuard establish accuracy and evidence for a claim that might be disputed?

ChargeGuard establishes accuracy and evidence by capturing timestamped data at each stop, applying the specific free-time and accessorial terms that apply to that load, and generating a documented claim or invoice. This process ensures that the evidence is clear and verifiable, reducing the likelihood of disputes.

How much claim history can I see in my reports?

Reports cover a rolling 3-year window, so you can review what's been recovered and what's still outstanding well beyond a single year.

Does the driver app need to be installed from an app store?

No. Drivers add it to their home screen straight from their phone's browser and can turn on real push notifications for trip updates -- nothing to download or install.

Pricing & Plans

How much does ChargeGuard cost?

ChargeGuard is priced in tiered monthly subscriptions based on fleet size. Plans start at $59/month for 5-15 trucks, $149/month for 16-50 trucks, and $349/month for 51-150 trucks. Annual billing offers a discount.

How are the pricing tiers determined?

Tiers are determined by the number of trucks in your fleet, which you declare when signing up. The Starter plan covers 5-15 trucks, Growth covers 16-50 trucks, and Scale covers 51-150 trucks.

Is there a discount for paying annually?

Yes, annual billing provides a discount of approximately 17% off the monthly rate. This means you'll pay $49/month ($588/year) for Starter, $124/month ($1,488/year) for Growth, and $291/month ($3,492/year) for Scale.

What happens if my fleet grows into a larger tier?

If your fleet grows into the next tier, you'll be prompted to upgrade your plan at your next renewal. Truck count is self-declared at signup.

What happens if I need to cancel?

If you cancel, you keep access through the period you've already paid for -- you're never cut off early.

Data, Privacy & Security

What data does ChargeGuard need to process my detention and accessorial claims?

ChargeGuard requires load timestamps, shipper/broker terms, and supporting documentation. This data can be provided via manual entry, CSV upload, or the driver app.

Does ChargeGuard contact my shippers or brokers directly?

Today, ChargeGuard prepares your completed claim package as soon as it's ready -- evidence attached, the broker's own terms cited. You review it and confirm sending, and ChargeGuard emails it straight to your own inbox to forward. Automated direct-to-broker sending is a separate capability in controlled testing, not yet available on every account.

How does ChargeGuard maintain data confidentiality and isolation?

ChargeGuard maintains strict data isolation to ensure your information is kept confidential and separate from other carriers' data.

Who owns the data I provide to ChargeGuard?

You own all the data you provide to ChargeGuard. The data is used solely to process your detention and accessorial claims.

Are uploaded documents and photos checked for anything unsafe?

Yes. Every rate confirmation, lumper receipt, and detention-evidence photo is automatically scanned for malware the moment it's uploaded, before it's stored.
